"Los Boxers" es un intento de redactar una lista de todos los fabricantes de motores que - en el curso de su existencia - fabricaban motores boxer.

Esta lista no pretende ser completa. Agradezco correcciones y complementos.

Wooler (England)  1909 - 1954

Wooler was a UK manufacturer of motorcycles and other vehicles, founded by engineer John Wooler in 1911 based in Alperton, Middlesex.
Wooler returned in 1945 with a prototype 500cc transverse four shaft drive with an unusual beam type engine with the cylinders set above one another like the Brough Superior Golden Dream. It was displayed at the Earls Court show in 1948 and again in 1951.It never ran properly and in 1954 Wooler returned to Earls Court with a completely different transverse flat four, still air cooled with shaft drive. Only a half dozen handbuilt prototypes were ever constructed and the machine never entered mass production. An example can be seen in the British Motorcycle Museum.

Modell Flat Four 1953 500 ccm  (1947-1954)
This is the most original surviving example of Wooler’s ambitious luxury shaft-drive tourer, looking unlike any other British motorcycle of the Fifties. The tidy all-alloy power unit’s cylinders are opposed in pairs either side on a longitudinal crankshaft, with two carburettors feeding them from above and exhausts exiting from below. The gearbox, built in unit with the engine, transmits drive to the rear wheel via bevel gears in the rear hub. As on previous Woolers, the fuel tank unit continues forward of the steering stem where it forms a headlamp nacelle.Wooler did not have the money needed to make a viable commercial product and the marque disappeared after founder John Wooler died in 1956.

There are probably only four complete Wooler flat fours in existence.
